Andrew Rothey

Mr. Rothey practices in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, premises liability, and motor vehicle accidents. Mr. Rothey was born in Pittsburgh and grew up in the South Hills. He graduated magna cum laude from Washington & Lee University. Prior to becoming a lawyer, Mr. Rothey worked as a court clerk in the Criminal Division of the Court of Common Pleas. After completing law school at Duquesne University, Mr. Rothey joined Perry Calder in 2014. He has successfully handled medical malpractice and personal injury cases through all phases of litigation and trial. He has obtained many million-dollar and multi-million dollar recoveries on behalf of his clients.

In 2018, Mr. Rothey was elected by his peers to serve as the Chair of the Young Lawyers Division of the Allegheny County Bar Association (ACBA). In 2021, he was elected to the Board of Governors of the ACBA, and re-elected in 2024. He has been heavily involved in many ACBA public service projects to support the broader community and to raise money for charitable causes.

Mr. Rothey serves as an arbitrator for the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the National Trial Lawyers, Pennsylvania Bar Association, Western Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association, and the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. He has dedicated nights and weekends to teach in the nationally-renowned Trial Advocacy program at Duquesne University School of Law.

In 2018, Mr. Rothey was recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as a “Top 40 Under 40” attorney in the field of civil plaintiff law. In 2020-2025, Mr. Rothey was named a “Rising Star” by the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers magazine. In 2026, Mr. Rothey was recognized as a Super Lawyer in Pennsylvania, an honor bestowed on only the top 5% of attorneys in the state.
