Pennsylvania motorcyclist killed by pickup truck

Riding on or sharing the road with a motorcyclist is not uncommon for residents in Pennsylvania. Riding these small vehicles are a great way to enjoy the outdoors, save on gas and efficiently get from one place to another. However, when a motorcyclist is involved in a collision, the results are likely to be traumatic or fatal. Because motorcycles do not have the hard exterior shell other automobiles have, it is likely that riders will be thrown from the bike, causing them to suffer serious injuries.

Pennsylvania authorities were recently dispatched to the scene of a two-vehicle collision. Reports indicate that the crash involved a pickup truck and a motorcycle near the intersection of Brookside Road and Radnor Drive in Lower Macungie Township. The 27-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Pennsylvania police believe that the fatal motorcycle crash occurred when the pickup truck traveled partially into the opposite lane of traffic while they were rounding a curve. This resulted in the pickup truck colliding head-on with an oncoming motorcycle. Reports also stated that another motorcyclist was injured as a result of this collision. A 20-year-old woman hit debris from this crash, causing her motorcycle to slide into a guardrail.

An investigation is still ongoing, and no charges were filed at the time of this report. Following investigation, authorities may be able to determine cause of the collision, and this information can be helpful with assigning liability. Following a fatal motorcycle accident, loved ones might have recourses. A wrongful death suit could help family member pursue compensation, helping them cover the losses and damages arising for them incident.
