In the late '70s the State Catastrophe Loss Fund of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, an agency involved in virtually all cases involving medical negligence and catastrophic loss, required confidentiality and no publicity concerning any case settled in which they were involved. It is for that reason that you will only find newspaper accounts of a few personal injury and medical malpractice cases settled by our office since the late '70s. The secrecy requirements of the State Catastrophe Loss Fund have prevented any publicity about the overwhelming majority of clients we have since represented, whose catastrophic cases were successfully concluded by members of our firm through settlement rather than trial.

Indeed, it is the case that most of the clients served by our office enjoy the benefits of settlement without need of trial. It is important to realize that the verdicts discussed in the news accounts at this site were dependent upon the unique circumstances of each particular case and should not be considered representative of settlement or verdict values for particular kinds of cases.

Our law firm has settled thousands of multi-million dollar cases. However, some of those settlements cannot be discussed because they are under confidentiality orders. The Medical Care Availability and Reduction of Error Act in Pennsylvania prohibits the publication of these settlements.
